Education Staffing Partnership are recruiting for an experienced teaching assistant to work in a SEN school in Blaenau Gwent. This role is to start asap with a view of it being longterm for the correct candidate. Previous experience of working within an SEN environment is essential.
With a range of disabilities within the school such as Autism, Mild & Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Social & Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, you will be required to have a flexible approach and have the ability to work with all ages from 3 – 19 years old. You may be required to work either one to one with pupils or to support the class as a whole as a teaching assistant.
We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, motivated, positive, professional, able to use their own initiative and able to think quickly in challenging situations. As each day can be different, an adaptable and flexible approached is essential.

Competitive rates of pay – minimum of £65.00- £70.00/ day
Exposure to schools in your area leading to permanent positions
Training on manual handling, physical intervention and learning difficulties will be provided
Access to free online CPD training, various courses to choose from.
Teaching Assistant qualification or previous experience of working with children, preferably in a school setting
Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) as a School Learning Support Worker
Current DBS (registered with the Update Service)
Ability to build good relationships with both staff and pupils
Passionate about working with children
Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Be committed and dedicated to working on supply
Adapt teaching methods and work to suit different age groups and abilities.
